A Week In The Life As An Auxiliar

The two most popular things people visit my site for are VIPKid and work as an auxiliar. While I’ve tried to be good with my posts on VIPKid, I’ve definitely slacked when it comes to talking about my experiences as an auxiliar! There’s been a lot going on in my work life and personal life […]

Teaching with VIPKid: A Ten Month Update

Posted on January 27, 2017by Genevieve

Welcome back to another VIPKid post! If you read my Six Month Update, then you will now know I’m teaching from Spain – the land of tapas, flamenco, bulls, and vino! I’m living in Spain because of the Auxiliares de Conversación ministry program through the Spanish government. Because I only work 16 hours a week […]

My First Impressions of Madrid

I officially began my 10 month journey in Spain about six seeks ago. If you don’t already know, I’m teaching English in Spain through the Auxiliares de Conversación Program. I’ll be stationed in the city of Madrid until June 30th (or longer if I decide to renew my teaching contract for another year or so). […]

VIPKid Six Month Update: Wayfaring Wanders

If you read my last post, a Four Month Update with VIPKid, you may be wondering what I decided to do. As you may recall, the summer months were particularly hard on me. I had a ridiculous amount of student no shows, my schedule was barely filled, some of my regular students stopped showing up… […]

VIPKID Four Month Update: Wayfaring Wanders

It’s been slightly more than four months since I started teaching with VIPKid. I’m still enjoying my job, but to be perfectly honest, the last month has been more difficult. First, however, let’s start with June! The month of June was by far my best month to date. Here were my completed numbers in June: […]

Auxiliares de Conversación: FAQs

Auxiliares de Conversación Blog FAQ: Wayfaring Wanders

I debated titling this post: “Auxiliares: Why Patience is a Virtue” but ultimately, it will be a source where I attempt to answer the most frequently asked questions about the program. Why is patience a virtue, you might ask? Well then, you clearly haven’t applied to the program! There is a lot of waiting, waiting, […]

My Name is Genevieve

I got my first taste for traveling when I was 13 years old and visited Indonesia with my family. Ever since, the wanderlust in me has been strong! After graduating college and working for a while, I decided to make a change and moved to Spain where I taught English for a year and I continue to teach ESL online. I've since moved back to the U.S. but continue to travel as often as I can. Thank you for visiting my site, where you can find out all about me, my travels, and all sorts of random thoughts!
