Life before and during the Auxiliares de Conversacion Program - WayfaringWanders.com

Before I decided to participate in the Auxiliares de Conversación Program, I was so curious to see how people lived in Spain. Everyone wants to know how big, dramatic life changes affect the way in which you live. I’m no different! Before heading to Spain, I devoured different blogs from people who participated in the […]

A Week In The Life As An Auxiliar

The two most popular things people visit my site for are VIPKid and work as an auxiliar. While I’ve tried to be good with my posts on VIPKid, I’ve definitely slacked when it comes to talking about my experiences as an auxiliar! There’s been a lot going on in my work life and personal life […]

Staying in Spain?

Posted on January 13, 2017by Genevieve

I can’t believe it’s time for another year of auxiliares applications! Time flies, doesn’t it? This time a year ago, I was freaking out about what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go, who I wanted to teach and just what I wanted. I love traveling (who doesn’t?) and I had this great […]

My Visa Application Nightmare: aka How I Came to Understand Murphy’s Law

Murphy's Law - Wayfaring Wanders

When I initially wrote the post about Applying for Your Visa, I thought everything would be sunshine and roses. All the people who complain about what a pain it is just don’t do their research, I thought. That, for the most part, is true. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen the […]

2 Months to Go: Self Doubt & Second Thoughts

Confusion and Self Doubt... Am I Making the Right Decision? Wayfaring Wanders

It’s July. My departure to Spain is just two months away. Two short months. And yet, I haven’t begun preparing much of anything. I don’t have my visa (late carta de nombramiento from Madrid). I don’t have my plane ticket. I haven’t mentioned anything to my work about leaving… I’ve only told a select few people […]

Auxiliares de Conversación Blog FAQ: Wayfaring Wanders

I debated titling this post: “Auxiliares: Why Patience is a Virtue” but ultimately, it will be a source where I attempt to answer the most frequently asked questions about the program. Why is patience a virtue, you might ask? Well then, you clearly haven’t applied to the program! There is a lot of waiting, waiting, […]

A Guide to the Different Regions in Spain

Posted on May 5, 2016June 7, 2016by Genevieve
Barcelona

Exciting news for the auxiliares in the 2016-2017 year! Previously, there were certain regions of Spain that were not participating in the language and cultural assistants program. This year, however, marks new beginnings! All regions will be open to the North Americans! As you may (or may not) know, when applying to the auxiliaries program, […]

My Name is Genevieve

I got my first taste for traveling when I was 13 years old and visited Indonesia with my family. Ever since, the wanderlust in me has been strong! After graduating college and working for a while, I decided to make a change and moved to Spain where I taught English for a year and I continue to teach ESL online. I've since moved back to the U.S. but continue to travel as often as I can. Thank you for visiting my site, where you can find out all about me, my travels, and all sorts of random thoughts!
